Bio


Professor Stella has a B.Sc. in Economics, PGDE, M.Ed, M.Sc in Economics, Ph.D in Educational Administration and Ph.D in Economic Development and Planning. She also has a Basic course Certificate in Agricultural and Food Nutrition Technology. She became the Professor of Development Economics in 2012. She is the first female Head of Department of Economics at UNN and the first female Professor of Economics in the University. She has successfully supervised up to eighteen PhDs and over thirty Master’s degree students in Economics and has many publications to her credit. She has served in various capacities at the University of Nigeria Nsukka such as Head of Department of Economics; Faculty Representative of the Social Sciences to the Post Graduate School; Chairman, University of Nigeria General Enterprises Ltd; Vice Chancellor’s Representative at the UNN Consultancy Unit; Member, Internally Generated Revenue Committee; Audit Committee of the World Bank sponsored by the African Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development. She is the Vice President of the Nigerian Economics Society, the Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria Center for Economics and Finance, UNN.She has attracted various linkages for the university with four African universities and TU Freibeg, Germany. She is the African Coordinator for the Consortium for Sustainable Development in Africa in collaboration with the TU Freiberg, Germany Internalization Linkage program in Africaetc. She is the Project Consultant of the UNN Skill Enterprise School.
